Avery Broderick holds the Delaney Family John Archibald Wheeler Chair at Perimeter Institute, where he is an associate faculty member, jointly appointed to the University of Waterloo. He is a key member of the Event Horizon Telescope collaboration, an international collaboration that, in 2019, unveiled the first image ever taken of a black hole. He leads the Event Horizon Initiative at Perimeter Institute.
